Samsung has been gradually losing customers in microchip sales in recent years. After the departure of Qualcomm, the next customer to leave is Tesla. TSMC will produce the new generation 4/5 nm FSD (Full Self Driving) chips. TSMC refrains from commenting for now.
According to reports, Tesla may be one of TSMC's top 7 customers. (There are companies such as Apple and AMD in this trend.) The important detail is that one of the customers is an electric car manufacturer for the first time.

Tesla is famous for both its electric cars and the "fully autonomous driving" feature in its cars. The hardware that provides this fully autonomous driving feature is a computer that Tesla calls FSD. FSDs produced by Samsung with the 14nm process were updated to 7nm over time. Now, according to the technical details, an FSD will be produced up to three times more powerful. It was also reported long ago that Tesla has developed a joint platform with TSMC.
On the other hand, it is not yet known what Samsung will do after the heating problems and inefficient 4nm architecture in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. However, Samsung has already lost Qualcomm, a very important customer, because according to some reports, Qualcomm will prefer TSMC for chips such as 8 Gen 2 and 7 Gen 1.
What do you think about it? What do you think Samsung's next move will be? Don't forget to mention your ideas in the comments!
